Delhi govt to introduce ‘happiness’ classes everyday in schools, navyamedia

The Delhi government is proposing to introduce daily ‘happiness’ classes for students of classes nursery to 8 in view of several incidents of rape, murder and physical violence inside school campuses in the national capital and NCR.

The ain of the government’s initiative is to make students feel content and develop self-awareness.

Deputy chief minister and education minister Manish Sisodia announced that the Directorate of Education and State Council of Education Research Training (SCERT) are creating an activity-based ‘happiness’ curriculum to begin in April.

Sisodia said happiness class’s purpose is not just to get high marks. However, the purpose is to create an education system that is happier, confident and self-aware citizens.
